A Unique Development Steeped in History
Located in the rural village of Compstall, Stockport, is Orlando House; a residential conversion comprising 7no. apartments. The existing stone building is steeped in history, having once hosted one of the countries first co-operative shops know as ‘The Old Teapot’. Having long since served its original purpose, the property was in need of a new use to secure its future.
Identified as a key historic building in the conservation area, the driver for the project was the sensitive restoration and refurbishment of the existing building in order to secure a new use and future property. Original features relating to the historic use were re-instated, offering a window to the history of the site.
The recently completed apartments are unique in layout and feel, celebrating the historic features of the restored building fabric. Generous proportions make for comfortable living spaces, with some dwellings making the most of the expansive views with spacious external roof terraces.
